Good morning. So I'm looking out my window and I'm lucky enough to see the sun. And I'm thinking, who is a better friend to each of us than the sun? And I thought of the irony of taking our good friends for granted. Even our loved ones. Even the sun itself, which gives us life energy every day. Take the sun away, and all life will fade on this world. Being here now, being aware. Feeling one's physical substance, one's skin. Wherever you're touching anything, or perhaps it's the air that's touching you. What's your temperature? What is one's body saying right now? Feeling inside of one's mind, feeling one's hearing, one's ears, one's sight. Sensing colors or darkness or shades. Sensing one's taste, one's smell in a draught of air. Feeling inside. Beneath one's skin, the pulse of one's heart, pressurizing one's vascular system, one's arteries, and one's veins. Feeling this somewhere, anywhere, everywhere. It is all possible. Wherever else, feeling it now. Perhaps one's fingers knit together, palms to palm, thumb to thumb, fingertips to fingertips, digits to digits. And if you're lucky like me, being able to look at our sun. Being aware, becoming more aware, becoming more sensitive, being more sensitive. And one's perception has changed, one's view has widened and spread. Even beyond our sun and to the distances of our universe. Even inside of ourselves, understanding from whence we have come. One cell is our beginning. One cell. However long ago, your mother and father created you. One cell. Born with a trillion cells. And as an adult with around thirty-seven trillion cells. one trillion is a thousand billion. It is so much. Take nothing for granted. Let every moment be a miracle. Every moment an opportunity to be thankful, to be humble, to be aware. Being here. As one breathes, pulses, sheds the thermal energy in one's heart as one's lungs are also creating muscular activity in one's chest cavity. Feeling beneath all of these things, one's body yearning for the continuation of life, relying upon the energy being brought to it. The thirty-seven trillion cells in one's next breath, in the next pulse of our hearts. This is the way it is, twenty-four hours a day. The day will encompass twenty thousand breaths, ninety thousand heartbeats, more or less. And this is the definition of one's day more than anything else you will do. This is the difference between one being alive or not. How important then do you think these processes of respiration and circulation become when one actually considers the truth? Being here, present, alert, alive. Thankful. Be thankful for what we have, for an opportunity to be alive. It is not a wish to be this way, it is a way to be. Just allowing oneself to settle and have a self-illuminating moment of realization, of a revelation of how lucky we are. Being in awe, feeling a sense of reverence for all that we don't know, for all that is to come, for all that has been, and for everything occurring now, a feeling of reverence and astonishment. This has been going on for fourteen billion years in some shape, way, or form. Moments flowing in vast currents of energy. The explosion that began so long ago is still in motion. You know, we think upon our planet, if someone was to take a little bit of explosives and put them far enough away that it's safe, and the explosion occurs, and the dirt goes up in the air, the smell of sulfur permeates the air like a firecracker, and then it's gone. The particles have dispersed. How long does that take? A few minutes to clean the air, depending on the day, depending on the wind. The force of creation is still today, this day. Now, our world, our solar system, our galaxy is hurtling away from this explosion today, at a million miles an hour. Thinking about these things, we can share. When we find our foundation, which is our life, our physicality, upon which anything and everything can be built. To realize this, how lucky we are, bundles of miracles, humbled in our widening view of being a part of creation, of everything that we've learned and accumulated, everything we've been able to discover and find for these reasons, for hope and ambition for our future, for us to grow up and actually be adults. It is what we are pursuing today, and it begins with each of us to be-ing present, humbled, thankful. It is a beginning of one's being alive today. The music's going to continue for another minute. Please enjoy and ponder. If we have time, please. Taking responsibility for what we have been given. It is not an easy lesson to learn. As we can see, as we gaze out and view and read and think about our world. It is not an easy lesson to have learned. We can see this. Yet learn it we can. It is for each of us. We are the steward of our own being. We are the helmsperson of our own ship of life flowing through the experiences, the current of being alive, articulate, aware, rising, glowing, with one's own warmth, one's own thermal energy, orangey red, shining in our own illumination.
